18 months and growing

Well Debbie and I have now been here at Lagoon Baptist for almost 18 months. Since then we have celebrated new life, celebrated new life in Christ, celebrated 100 years as a church, and celebrated life that has passed on to be with Jesus. We have celebrated with our church family during holidays down at the Lagoon on crazy hot days and celebrated in our church building in the comfort of modern conveniences. But thru it all, we have celebrated our Lord and Savior, Jesus.

In all that we do our focus must be on worship. No mater where we are and at what stages of life we are in, we must do all for the glory of God. That doesn’t just mean on Sunday’s when we meet together in a building. We, as followers of Christ, must worship Him in all times and in all ways. A very good friend of mine once said as he was standing on the pulpit of a church, “You can’t worship God in here, if you are not worshiping Him out there”!  Think about it, worship is not what we go to out of convenience because it pleases us. Worship is what we do every day, so that God will be glorified.

We have kind of adopted a verse out of Matthew to be our focus this year at Lagoon.

“Let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven”. Matthew 5:16

So as we come to the end of our 2nd Summer here at Lagoon, our prayer is that we shine before all people... so that they will give glory to God!

Come worship with us! We’d love to have you!

What a great "new beginning"

Brother Mike here.... well three Sunday's have past since my wife Debbie and I moved into the parsonage behind the church. What a blessing to be "back home". We had the privilege of serving at Lagoon Baptist Church from 2001-2005 as youth and music director. Well alot of water has flowed in and out of the Lagoon since then and we are blessed to be "home".

On Sunday's we have been in the first 5 chapters of Joshua and I believe the Lord has had these sermons for me as well as the church.  The encouraging words of "Be Strong and Courageous" rings out to my wife and I as we lead these people from the past and into the "promised land"

...... well more on that later

If you are ever down in the Gulf Shores area come worship with us!

Tim we are a small church that worships with a blended style of music. We are redeveloping a small choir that has been disbanded for a few years. We sing some of the older hymns as well as some of the new worship songs.
